Description: - A Victorian 18ct yellow gold Mizpah ring.
Mizpah (Hebrew for 'watchtower') jewellery has been traditionally worn to indicate an emotional bond between people who are separated (either physically or by death).
The gold band is hallmarked with the Birmingham Assay office stamp, '18' for 18 carat gold, and date letter 'e' to denote 1879.
Assay: - .750 (18ct gold).
Period: - Late 19th Century.
Date: - 1879.
Measurement: - UK ring size M (leading edge). US ring size 6 1/4 (leading edge). The band measures 5.8mm (width to the front) x 3.1mm (width to the back).
Weight: - 3.1 grams.
Condition: - The antique gold ring is in good condition. Light surface scratches, and wear to the high points commensurate with age. Please see photographs for confirmation of condition.
