Description: - A George III 18ct yellow gold and white enamel memorial mourning band ring.

The ring bears the inscription "T:C:FOUNTAYNE·ARM:OB:1·JAN:1780·AE:22", within a white enamel band. 

• "T:C:" are the initials of the person's first and middle names.
• "FOUNTAYNE" is the surname of the individual.
• "ARM:" is an abbreviation for "Armiger," which means "bearer of arms" (as in heraldry), indicating that the person was an esquire or someone entitled to bear a coat of arms.
• "OB:" is an abbreviation for "obiit," which means "he/she died."
• "1 JAN: 1780" is the date of death, January 1, 1780.
• "AE: 22" stands for "aetatis," a Latin term meaning "aged." The number "22" refers to the age of the person at the time of death. 

Therefore, the plain English translation of the inscription would be: "T.C Fountayne, Esquire, died on January 1, 1780, at the age of 22"
