Description: - An antique Victorian sterling silver graduating curb link albert watch chain and fob.
Assay: - .925 (Sterling silver).
Period: - Late 19th century.
Maker: - William Thorneywork to the chain; and Constantine & Floyd to the fob.
Engraving: - None.
Measurement: - The chain measures 13 & 13/16 inches (35.0cm) in length end to end. The links measure 9.5mm at their widest point. The fob measures 4.0cm x 3.5cm. The chain and fob combined measures 38.7cm (15 1/4 inches) end to end.
Weight: - 55.9 grams (combined).
Condition: - The sterling silver albert chain is in good antique condition with light tarnishing. The dog-clip, T-bar, each chain link, and fob are stamped with the lion passant to denote sterling silver. One of the chain links, dog-clip, and T-bar are stamped with the makers mark 'W*T'. The T-Bar, dog-clip, and a chain link are stamped with the date letter 'Z' to denote Birmingham, 1899. The fob is hallmarked with the makers mark 'CE&FD', Birmingham, 1899.
