Description: - A Victorian 9 carat sapphire, and diamond crescent brooch, circa 1890s.
As was common for the period, the brooch is unhallmarked, and has been tested to be silver fronted, and 9 karat (carat) gold to the back.
Period: - Late 19th Century.
Date: - Circa 1890
Measurement: - 6.2 cm (end to end).
Weight: - 7.5 grams.
Condition: - Light surface scratches to the brooch commensurate with age. The diamonds and sapphires are in good condition. The pin and c-clasp work as expected. The modern replacement safety chain is base metal. Gemstone treatment is unknown. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
