Description: - A Victorian 9ct yellow gold graduating amethyst Riviere necklace circa 1890. The amethyst necklace is collet-set to the front with a graduated line of circular-cut amethysts totalling approximately 27.84cts As was common for the period, the necklace is unhallmarked, and has been tested, and confirmed to be 9 karat (carat) gold minimum fineness.
Period: - Late 19th Century.
Engraving: - None.
Measurement: - The necklace measures approximately 42.5cm (16 3/4 inches) when fastened around the neck. Total carat weight is approximately 27.84ct.
Weight: - 15.8 grams / 0.51 troy oz.
Condition: - The graduating round cut amethysts are in good condition. Very minor surface wear commensurate with age and usage. Minor tarnishing/patina present. The barrel clasp and pin closes securely. Gemstone treatment is unknown. Please see photographs for confirmation of condition.
