Description: - A Victorian 18ct yellow gold "Keeper" ring.
Keeper rings were originally worn on the finger to prevent another ring from inadvertently sliding off that finger.
The ring is hallmarked with Birmingham assay office marks, '18' for 18 carat gold, and date letter 'W' to denote 1896.
Assay: - .750 Gold (18ct).
Period: - Late 19th Century.
Date: - 1896.
Measurement: - UK ring size O (leading edge). US ring size 7 1/4 (leading edge). The band is 7.0mm (width to the front) x 3.0mm (width to the back).
Weight: - 3.4 grams.
Condition: - The ring is in good antique condition. Light surface scratches and wear commensurate with age. Please see photographs for confirmation of condition.
