Description: - A Victorian 15ct gold carnelian signet ring.

The signet ring is crafted in a mellow rose gold, set with a round carnelian, beaded decoration to head and shoulders, completed by a plain shank.

The ring is hallmarked with Birmingham assay office marks, the date letter 'P' to denote 1864, and stamped '15.625' for 15 carat gold.

Period: - Mid 19th century.

Date: - 1864.

Maker: - Makers mark of 'HG' for Henry Griffith Ltd.

Engraving: - Unengraved.

Measurement: - UK ring size M 1/2 (leading edge). US ring size 6 1/2 (leading edge). The carnelian measures approximately 9.0mm (diameter).

Weight: - 4.9 grams.

Condition: - The ring is in good antique condition. Minor scratches, nicks, pitting, and abrasion commensurate with age. Evidence of the ring having been bloomed (given more of a matte finish) at time of creation. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
