Description: - A Victorian sterling silver snuff box. The snuff box is of rectangular form, with engine-turned decoration, the hinged cover with a skull smoking a pipe, and the underside engraved with initials.
The snuff box is hallmarked with the makers mark of Thomas William Dee, and London assay office marks, 1866.
Date: - 1866.
Maker: - Thomas William Dee.
Engraving: - Engraved to the underside with initials. Also engraved to the inside lid "Bryant. 286. Regent St".
Measurement: - 44.5mm (length) x 35.0mm (depth) x 14.0mm (height).
Weight: - 39.1 grams.
Condition: - The snuff box is in good condition. The lid opens smoothly and firmly snaps closed. Light surface scratches, and tarnishing. The snuff box displays minor bruising throughout commensurate with age. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
