Description: - A George V silver butt marker by Asprey, modelled in the form of a gun cartridge. The base is inscribed 'Asprey's Cartridge Place Finder, Patent Applied For' and the top with a 6 in a triangle and inscribed, 'Loaded by Asprey, Smokeless'. The rotating action to the base opens the cartridge to reveal the gilded compartment, which holds eight unmarked white metal numbered pegs.

Condition: - The butt marker displays minor bruises, surface marks, and scratches commensurate with age. The gilt wash to the interior is lightly worn in places. The rotating section has a tight action and closes securely. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
