Description: - A Victorian sterling silver vesta case match holder by the silversmith Sampson Mordan & Co.

Assay: - .925 (Sterling Silver).

Date: - 1892.

Period: - Late 19th Century.

Measurement: - The vesta case measures 54mm (height) x 38mm (width) x 20mm (depth).

Weight: - 42.7 grams / 1.37 troy ounces.

Condition: - The vesta case is in good condition. The lid opens smoothly and firmly snaps closed. The inside of the lid appears to have had a few dings professionally smoothed out judging by light hammer marks visible to the inside. Light surface scratches and tarnishing commensurate with age.
