Description: - A George III 18ct yellow gold and white enamel mourning band ring. The ring bears the inscription "CESIA.BARNE.OB:11.FEB:1781.AET:11", within a white enamel band. The mourning ring has been crafted to honour the memory of the child that has passed away all too suddenly, and the use of white found in this ring would have also been used to commemorate the young child’s purity and innocence.  As was common for the period the ring is unhallmarked and has been tested and confirmed to be 18 karat (carat) gold fineness.

Date: - Circa 1781.

Period: - Late 18th Century.

Engraving: - The ring is unengraved.

Measurement: - UK ring size M. US ring size 6. The band measures 3.5mm in width. Approximate internal band diameter 17.5mm. Approximate exterior band diameter 20.0mm.

Weight: - 5.6 grams.

Condition: - The band and the enamel on the ring are in good condition, displaying minor surface scratches to the gold, and minor chips / nicks to the enamel commensurate with age. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
