Description: - A George V sterling silver-gilt replica Tudor chalice cup, and plinth with vacant plaque. The cup is of circular form, with a chased inscription on a matted background, the tapering foot with a rope-work girdle and chased border. The cup is crafted with the stylised inscription: 'SOLI DEO HONOR ET GLORIA', which translates as 'TO GOD ALONE, HONOR AND GLORY'. The cup is hallmarked with Birmingham hallmarks, 1922, and by the silversmiths S.Blanckensee & Sons Ltd. The chalice cup is a replica of the Wymewold Chalice, a rare chalice from Tudor times.

Measurement: - The cup measures 9.4cm (height) x 12.9cm (cup diameter). The cup when on plinth measures 14.8cm (height).
Weight: - The silver bowl measures 306.3 grams / 9.85 ozt.
Condition: - The cup is in good condition. Light surface scratches commensurate with age. The cup has no engravings. The gilt wash to the exterior is mostly rubbed/polished off. No splits, damage, or repairs. The hallmarks are partially rubbed. The wooden plinth displays light wear to its edges. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
