Description: - An antique George III yellow gold portrait miniature ring. The ring is set to the front with a portrait of a lady within a gold border, with a closed back and engraved 'Mary Patey obit 24 Mar 1778 aet 56'. As was common for the period the ring is unhallmarked, and having been tested, is confirmed as 9ct gold minimum fineness.

Date: - Circa 1778.

Period: - Late 18th Century.

Engraving: - 'Mary Patey obit 24 Mar 1778 aet 56'.

Measurement: - Ring UK Size P 1/2 - Q. US size 7 3/4 - 8. The face of the ring measures 2.6cm x 1.6cm

Weight: -  5.0 grams / 0.16 troy ounces.

Condition: - The ring is in good antique condition. The portrait of the lady is in good condition. The glazed panel displays minor surface scratches commensurate with age. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
