Description: - A George V 9ct yellow gold sardonyx signet ring. The signet ring is of shield form to the sardonyx head with engraved Masonic emblem, reeded shoulders, and plain shank.
The ring is hallmarked with Chester assay office marks, stamped '9.375' for 9 carat gold. The date mark is indistinct due to a previous resizing.
Period: - Early 20th century.
Date: - Circa 1915.
Maker: - Makers mark of 'J.H.W' for John Henry Wynn.
Engraving: - Unengraved.
Measurement: - UK ring size T 1/2 (leading edge). US ring size 9 3/4 (leading edge). The head of the ring measures approximately 15mm (height) x 13.5mm (width).
Weight: - 5.2 grams.
Condition: - The ring is in good antique condition. Light scratches to the gold ring, and minor chips to the edges of the sardonyx commensurate with age. The ring displays evidence of a previous resize. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
