Description: - An Edwardian 15ct yellow gold opal cabochon and seed pearl pendant. The gold pendant is set with articulated sections in a open work floral design, which are embellished with seed pearls and opal cabochons; to a Figaro style chain with roll-pin clasp.
The pendant is stamped '15ct'; and the chain is stamped '15c', which are both used to denote 15 carat gold fineness.
Period: - Early 20th Century.
Date: - Circa 1900s.
Engraving: - None.
Measurement: - The pendant measures 3.9cm (height to include bale) x 2.4cm (width). The chain measures 17 1/4 inches (43.8cm) end to end.
Weight: - 7.9 grams combined.
Condition: - The Edwardian necklace is in good condition. The opals have a lovely fire, displaying shades of pink, yellow, green, and blue. The seed pearls on the pendant are circular and well matched in terms of colour, displaying only minor wear to the nacre. Please note the pearls are untested and unwarranted for natural pearls. Gemstone treatment: unknown. The roll-pin clasp closes securely. Please see photographs for confirmation of condition.
