Description: - A Victorian 18ct yellow gold 0.76ct three stone diamond gypsy band ring. The ring is hallmarked with Chester assay office marks, stamped '18' to denote 18 karat (carat) gold, and date stamp 'A' for 1884.
Date: - 1884.
Period: - Late 19th Century.
Engraving: - Unengraved.
Measurement: - The ring is a UK Size O 1/2. US Size 7 1/4. The band measures approximately 7mm in width to the front and 3.5mm to the back.
The Diamonds measure approximately:
1) 4.0mm x 3.7mm x 3.0mm,
2) 3.7mm x 3.5mm x 2.5mm,
3) 3.7mm x 3.5mm x 2.5mm.
Weight: - 7.3 grams / 0.23 troy ounces.
Condition: - The old cushion cut diamonds are in good condition with minor surface wear. Light wear and scratches to the shank commensurate with age. Gemstone treatment: unknown. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
