Description: - A George V Arts and Crafts style sterling silver 'Winchester Bushel' bowl, by George Laurence Connell, Birmingham, 1925.  The circular bowl modelled on Henry VII of England's Winchester bushel measure is hand beaten, with handles to each side, hoof style feet, and a raised inscription in Latin around the centre of the bowl: 'E·R ELIZABETH DEI·GRACIA ANGLIAE FRANCIAE HIBERNIA REGINA·E·R E·R 1601', which translates as 'ER ELIZABETH GOD GRACE ENGLAND FRANCE IRELAND QUEEN ER ER 1601'.

Assay: - .925 (Sterling Silver).

Date: - 1925.

Engraving: - Stamped to the base with the retailers mark 'Connell, 83. Cheapside. 604'.

Maker: - G L Connell Ltd.

Measurement: - 6.8cm (height) x 16.7cm (length between handles) x 13.6cm (bowl diameter).

Weight: - 390.3 grams.

Condition: - The twin-handled bowl is in good condition. Minor surface scratches, marks, and nicks commensurate with age. No signs of damage, dents, or repairs. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
