Description: This set of four sterling silver Traprain Dishes, or Tastevins, echoes a historic design unearthed from the Roman silver hoard at Traprain Law, Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1919. Each dish features an egg-shaped bowl set on a foot, with a handle culminating in a mythical creature or bird's head clutching a sphere. These pieces are not only functional but serve as a bridge to the past, mirroring the craftsmanship and artistic vision of a bygone era.

Authenticated by the Edinburgh assay office with a hallmark from 1937, these dishes bear the maker's mark 'B&S' for Brook & Son, ensuring their provenance and quality.
