Description: - A Victorian 18 carat gold Aesthetic Movement brooch. The three-tone gold brooch is crafted in the Japonesque style, with engraved decoration depicting a swallow perching on a cherry blossom branch, with a glazed locket compartment to reverse.
As was common for the period the brooch is unhallmarked, and has been tested to be 18 carat gold. The pin tests as 9 carat gold fineness.
Period: - Late 19th century.
Date: - Circa 1890s.

Measurement: - 2.25cm (height) x 3.4cm (length) x 1.0cm (depth).
Weight: - 6.6 grams.
Condition: - This fine quality jewel is in good condition, displaying minor surface scratches, and is complete with it's original clasp & pin all in good working order. The mixed metal removable panel to the reverse has a modern replacement glazed section.
