Description: - A set of six Scottish George IV sterling silver table salts. The table salts are of circular cauldron form with shaped rim, gilt-wash interior, raised on three lion mask and paw feet, and are engraved to the front with a pair of crests.

Assay: - Edinburgh, Scotland, .925 Sterling Silver.

Date: - 1823.

Period: - Early 19th Century.

Engraving: - Each is engraved to the front with a pair of family crests.

Maker: - James McKay.

Measurement: - Approximately 3.6cm (height) x 6.6cm (diameter).

Weight: - 596.0 grams.

Condition: - The 1820s sterling silver table salts are in good antique condition. The salts display minor dings to the body, surface scratches, and wear to the gilt wash interior commensurate with usage.

There is a small hairline tear (approximately 5.5mm in length) running horizontally along part of one of the table salt's lion mask feet. This is likely to have occurred when the salt was made and the foot was being worked into shape resulting in a slight separation in the silver. This does not appear to affect the structural integrity of the salt, and is being mentioned for fullness of description. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.

Item No: - 1631_ps1.

Customs and import taxes: - Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply.
