Description: - An Arts and Crafts sterling silver sugar caster. The sugar caster is of cylindrical form, with spot-hammered decoration and applied with lozenge rosettes, the cover with a ball finial, on a spread circular foot.

It is hallmarked with Birmingham assay marks, 1916, and the sponsors mark of Debenhams Ltd.

Assay: - .925 (Sterling silver).

Date: - 1916.

Engraving: - Stamped to the base with serial number and the retailers mark '660', 'Debenhams Ltd'.

Maker: - It bears the hallmarks of the department store Debenhams Ltd and is almost certainly an A.E. Jones piece.

Measurement: - 17.8cm (height) x 6.8cm (base diameter).

Weight: - 216.1 grams.

Condition: - The antique sugar caster is in good condition. Light surface scratches, and marks commensurate with age. There are no splits, damage, or repairs. The domed cover has a nice tight fit. Please see photos for confirmation of condition.
